Dear Arlo,
Hope you had a nice weekend. I had a relaxing furrst weekend in my new home.
Sorry I'm slow on writing to you. I forgot my pawsword. Mom says I can use her laptop while she's at work as long as I don't look at pics of nakey girl cats on it. Idk if she has Pawrental Controls on it. But I won't do that. I'm engaged to be engaged. Still haven't met her. We talk though, through the wall. She has a really soft purr. How's your love life bro?
Did you watch it? I can't wait to get married. I can't wait to ride around the Palace in a horse drawn carriage. That was so cool! I don't have a military uniform to wear. I haven't been in the Service yet. I'm not sure if I will go in the ARMY like Mommy's Daddy, or the NAVY like Mommy Amy's Step Dad or the Marines like her brother, RIP. Mom says I can wear a tuxedo maybe. We're not sure if Lucy will wear a gown. Of course she can wear white. Neither of us have been married before. But Mom says Lucy does not like to wear clothes, shhhhhush... She likes to go nakey.
I hadn't figured out how I was going to pay for her ring yet, since I don't have a job. But last night Mom and me went down to the Beach and I've got an idea I'll tell ya about when I show you some pictures in a minute. Bcuz we were up all night and into the morning we slept til noon Saturday. Mommy made me and her omelets. She had a cheese omelet on toasted buns, and I had a Fancy Feast Kitten Turkey omelet, no toast. It was yummy in my tummy.

It rained, and rained, and rained. We listened to an interesting detective story by John Sanford, Field of Prey, it's in his Prey series. We played a lot. We missed the horse race, because we were having so much fun with made up games and toys. I have this round thind, with a scratchy scratchy thing in the middle and a jingle bell ball goes around in a track around the scratchy scratchy thing. Mom put a golf ball in there too as a greater challenge. I got the golf ball out with my dexterous paws. They're lightweight, hollow golf balls for kids, kinda like ping pong balls. The noise of them rolling across the floors is like music to a kitten's ears. I can chase them by sound. I am also learning how to play Pong with them. Do you know how to play that, with the big red cup?
Even though she usually hates rainy days, Mom said she was happy it was raining so much, because she could stay in and just snuggle and play with her new little boy. She's the best Mommy. I was running around the house. I am learning the layout. I wanted to run up and look out the window. There are some plant pots on the floor below a stool. I hopped up on one pot and when I tried to climb up on another jade ceramic one on stacked on top of it, it kinda fell down and across the floor. It didn't break, but the top layer of pot is covered in pea gravel and a gazillion little rocks, big rocks and sea shells from both pots went flying across the floor. The noise scared the willies out of me! I ran to the other side of the room. When I saw Mommy coming after me, I ran and hid. I was so scared she was going to be mad and spank my bottom or send me away. But no, she scooped me up and held me close, and with concern asked if I was okay. I looked at her surprised. "I'm not in trouble?" No, sweetie, you will never be in trouble. All I want is for you to be well and safe, and never get hurt. She told me she loved me and gave me a kiss. I hugged her and snuggled back up to her and gave her a purr. Then she cleaned everything up, and told me it was her fault she shouldn't have stacked the pots up like that. She said she had to put pea gravel in the top of the plant pots to keep Lucy from digging in them. She likes to dig to Singapurr to see her furriends. And kitties can get all sorts of cooties from the plant dirt and plant water and get a tummy ache. I have decided the rocks and sea shells are pretty and I like to lay on them, under the palm trees and pretend I'm in the wild, stalking my toys. It's a lot of fun Arlo.
Since we would be pawtying and playing some more on Saturday night, I took a catnap and let the women do the laundry and iron the clothes. I helped Mom cook later. I'm pretty good in the kitchen, Chef Neptune! On Saturday nights off, we have meowgaritas. Me-Yow!
Sunday it rained again. Where am I, back in Washington State?! We saw some of Meowmy's friends and neighbors, and they said I was the most handsome boy floof ever! We talked to some of her peeps on the phone and her second Mommy is out of the hospital and is receiving very good care with my new cousins Charly, Coco and Topaz and their hoomans BG2 & her handsome hubby.

Sunday night
Mommy took me for a car ride down to the BW (Boardwalk) and Atlantic Avenue.
She has a car seat in the front seat so we kitties can sit in it and look
out of the window at all the action. We passed the Police, Fire and Rescue
Stations - it's great they are all so close to us in case we have an emergency.
We stopped at the Library for a sec. We saw hotels, and the Pier, and shops and restaurants. We saw hoomans on bikes and walking
and riding on the Trolley Bus. I did not see any hoomans with their big
dogs. I would have to protect Mommy again. She said we were going last night
because it is the last weekend before Memorial Day, the unofficial start
to summer. She said she will have to check the law. She may not be able to take
me back down to the BW again until after Labor Day, something about pets. What
the what?! We were going to go see Mommy's friend Vicky, but she was off work
last night and not down there. She loves kitties too!
Mom wants to take me down to see
the humongous sculpture of King Neptune. How about that?! I am in the right
town. They already have a giant sculpture of me. They pay homage to King
Neptune here. Never heard of King Arlo - dude.
While we were walking on the Boardwalk, we
could hear some live music playing a few blocks away. But we walked toward the Inlet
and just listened to the peaceful lull of the ocean instead. It was very
peaceful. There were lights bouncing on the water and Mommy said it was hoomans out in small boats
fishing. Catching fish, yum! We walked along the sea wall by the inlet and lots
of hoomans were fishing with poles dangled over the rail. A big boy asked
Mommy if I wanted a fish to take home. He was still flopping around, in his
fins and body, not in a can. Mommy said no, thank you, another time maybe.
We are out for a walk and don't have anywhere to put it right now. But
that was nice.
We continued walking on the little path along the water. Mommy says she loves to walk down here at night, ride her bike during the day, and watch the sunsets color the water on the inlet at sunset. Anytime is beautiful, and it is wonderful to be sharing it with me tonight.
We sat on this nice little bench.
We walked under the big Rudee Inlet Bridge over to the Virginia
Beach Fishing Center, where Mommy used to work. She used to walk under
that bridge when she was a little girl when she came to visit her Grandmother
who lived a block or so away. We looked at water shimmering in reflected lights.
Told ya!
They love
me here!
We went over and looked at a giant fish. I think the it is biggest one caught by a boat going out of this marina. Check me out Arlo!
Oh, 2 days has passed and I’ve just been too busy Living the Life
to write much. Text me sometime. I did get in a tiny bit of trouble. Mom says
she will only use her stern voice when she needs to tell us something for our
own good, for safety sake. When we were driving back home from the Beach, all of about 4
minutes, I kept getting out of my car seat. Hey, I wanted to drive. I’m a big
boy now. Mom said I can’t drive yet. It was kinda hard to try to get over to
her seat with my racing harness holding me in the cat car seat, but I was
trying. She said Young man, don’t make me pull over. I guess I made her pull
over and she put me in the carrier in the back seat. Dang it! Stewart Little
gets to drive. Barbie gets to drive. Those guys on Toy Story get to drive, but
not me!
Another indignation I have had to suffer is Mommy must love Christmas
all year long. She puts a jingle bell collar on me when I am out of my room so
she can find me. What is she blind? And sometimes I need to hide under the
chair in the hall outside of the room where Lucy is sequestered when I’m out of
my room. I need to talk to her in private! Geesh. Fortunately, very
fortunately, she loves the sound of bells. She doesn’t know I am being lo-jacked.
Big Sisfur is always watching. But I am going to be Pawsitive about this. JB
told Mommy that she put bells on her shoes to catch the attention of her future
husband Hugh. It worked. They got married and lived happily-ever-after.
Since I can’t see Lucy for so long, I have been asking Mommy about
her, what do they do each day when they are together. (Monday) She said when
she gets up in the morning, she heats up her coffee and prepares Lucy’s
breakfast while Lucy nibbles sweet oat grass to start. Then Mommy hand feeds
her. Today she sat at the dining room table with her coffee and Lucy sat in the
front window beside it. They could both enjoy Mommy’s beautiful landscaping and
watch a Mommy and Daddy cardinal eating at the birdfeeder. The window was open,
allowing fresh springtime air to waft in. They enjoyed the roses climbing the
trellis by the window. It was a beautiful day full of love and joy. It will only
be better when we can all sit together as a family.
And she does Meowga on Mondays. She's so purrty.

Write when you can. Love N2 (trouble)
